Teppe Watanabe was born in 1978 in Japan, where at the age of twelve had his first contact with the classical guitar. In 1996 he was awarded third position in the Tokyo Classical Guitar Competition, and went to the United States in 2000 for music studies at the Los Angeles Valley College, where he obtained a scholarship and was winner of the Original Composition Workshopprize. Since 2002 he teaches guitar private lessons as he keeps an active music life, from which it is important to refer his first CD Solitude on Guitar released by Bellmusic (USA), The Saudade Trio in Los Angeles (USA), and classical guitar recitals at the Tehachupi, and Burbank churches (USA). In 2004 in Spain, he made many concerts with Ricardo Sanchez at Plaza de las Artes (Madrid). Since 2005 Teppe Watanabe is living in Lisbon (Portugal), where he recorded his second CD Lisbossa released by Cãoceito, became part of the samba groupAbrajá, participates in the Picoas Plaza Summer Concert, Verão na Alameda Concert (where he made classical guitar recital organized by Lisbon mayor house), and Praça de Figueira Christmas Concert organized by Santander bank. Teppe Watanabe also performs regularly at places like Associação Cultural O Bacalhoeiro, Cefalópode, Ordem dos Engenheiros, Ateneu de Lisboa, O’Gillins (Irish Pub) e Casa do Brasil.
